Feldenkrais Teacher and Physical Therapist

I teach the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education at Noe Integrative Health with in-person Functional Integration sessions and online Zoom Awareness Through Movement classes. My website is feldenkraissf.com.
I have been practicing and teaching in the Noe Valley/Glen Park neighborhood for over 33 years. Before the pandemic, I co-owned at the Feldenkrais Center for Movement and Awareness on Chenery Street. We closed the center due to Covid-19 in August of 2020. It is my pleasure to work now at 1199 Sanchez with other experienced healing practitioners.
I generally work with people who have pain, or other complex or chronic neurological conditions. Often people come to see me who haven’t been helped by other approaches. I bring the skills and knowledge from intensive study and practice in the field of somatics, and from my education as a physical therapist. The studies that have influenced me the most include: Feldenkrais Method, Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, yoga, sensory awareness, meditation, and dance.
I completed my Feldenkrais training in 1987 and became certified as a Feldenkrais Trainer in 1999. I enjoy teaching in many Feldenkrais training programs in the US and other countries, training the next generation of practitioners. I am a graduate of Columbia University in Physical Therapy, and have a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University, and a B.S. in Biology and Physical Education from Rhode Island College.
I am available for presentations or trainings to groups on topics such as: pain and curiosity, bodily basis of empathy, balance, breathing, posture, pelvic floor awareness for men and women, safe exercise, mind mapping, improving spinal health, recovering from injury or surgery, and self-touch for relieving touch hunger.
I have led workshops for organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association, Fisioterapia Internacional de Colombia, Worker’s Compensation Nurses and Case Managers, UCSF PT Doctoral Students, Kaiser Dermatology Department, Catholic Social Services, Sonoma Valley Hospital, UC Davis Pain Management Conference, Buen Dia Family School, Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists, St. Francis Hospital Women Physicians, Pacific Business Group on Health, and Northern California Association of Pain Psychologists.
