Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Dr. Den has become well known for providing pediatric care in San Francisco. She is passionate about treating people of all ages, and her whole family practice allows her to follow that dream. She believes it is never too early nor too late to take steps toward greater health and well being. Skilled at supporting people (kids are people, too!) with a wide variety of health concerns, Dr. Den is sought after for all things pediatric, women’s health, psycho-emotional issues, digestive concerns, immune enhancement, acute and chronic pain and the general promotion of physical and emotional health.

Dr. Den is a California licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, having received her Master’s of Science in 2002, and then her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2018, both from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. She has completed extensive coursework in the areas of women’s health and pediatrics, including traveling to Japan to study shonishin, a non-needle pediatric style of treatment.

Dr. Den is also a California registered nurse, with over 16 years of experience working in Bay Area hospitals, including 10 years at California Pacific Medical Center. She appreciates the ways in which Eastern and Western medicines are able to complement one another, and values the mind/body/spirit connection inherent in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is motivated by her desire to help others to heal themselves and find joy in their lives.

Outside of work, Dr. Den especially enjoys reading, traveling, family excursions and culinary adventures. She lives in the Castro in San Francisco with her spouse, their teen daughter, and two very lazy cats.

And yes, Den is short for Denise, but just about everyone calls her Den.
