Mary Johnston, CCH

Certified Classical Homeopath

My initial introduction to homeopathy was during my pregnancy, when I used homeopathic remedies to assist during the birth and in the postpartum period. Eventually, I sought out constitutional care for both myself and my son. I was able to resolve an old chronic condition and watched my son move seamlessly through patterns of illness as he was growing. This first hand experience of the deep healing homeopathy provides led me to begin the study of this system of natural healing. I graduated from the Pacific Academy of Homeopathy in 2001, became certified in classical homeopathy through the North American Center for Homeopathic Certification and have been practicing at this location since.

Homeopathy is a system of healing developed in the early 1800’s that views health and illness in a holistic manner. A homeopath takes into consideration all aspects of a person’s health, including the emotional, mental and physical symptoms. The homeopath strives to understand the particular and complete way in which a person is suffering or limited. The initial conversation between client and homeopath is the first step in selecting an appropriate remedy to begin the healing process. Homeopathic remedies, developed in homeopathic pharmacies, are highly dilute natural substances, which work by gently stimulating the body’s capacity to heal itself.

My practice is largely a family practice, providing care for both chronic and acute conditions of many common childhood and adult ailments. I often work in conjunction or as a complement to the care people receive from their other health care practitioners. Having spent my childhood in Central America, I am fluent in Spanish and welcome working with people from the Spanish speaking community. I love working with this safe and effective modality. It has been an honor to follow and witness the process of healing with the individuals and families I am fortunate to work with.

If you have any questions about homeopathy or my practice, please contact me so we can discuss if working together feels right for you and/or your children.
